Healthy Breasts Massage Oil
Breast massage is something that every woman should add into their daily routine. It is an extremely positive and proactive step we can all take in nurturing ourselves and the longevity of our natural breast health.
Breast dis-ease is a far too common occurrence that studies have shown can be less likely to present itself with the use of certain herbs, oils and regular lymphatic stimulation, such as gentle tissue massage. With regular breast massage, you are also far more likely to detect a potential problem.
Clogged milk ducts, engorgement and mastitis can make breastfeeding extremely painful, and sometimes nearly impossible. Breast massage & warm compresses are often recommended to help resolve those issues, and to help prevent them from occurring. Studies show that breast massage drastically improves the flow of milk in nursing mothers, and the quality of the breastmilk itself.
The lymphatic system also extends through the breasts/armpits and needs some help to get moving to circulate and drain properly. Lymph fluid often gets backed up and filled with toxins and can remain stagnant, and stimulating and circulating the lymphatic system helps to flush them out which also aids in boosting the immune system.
This act of self love & self care is innately soothing, revitalizing and healing. It encourages the body to produce those “feel good” and anti-aging hormones such as oxytocin, prolactin and estrogen which improves overall mental health as well.
It also doesn’t hurt that statistics show that regular breast massage leads to increased blood flow, tightened and toned tendons, firmer breasts and stronger breast tissue. It’s a win-win!
Massage for at least 10-15 minutes daily for best results. Cover chest/breast/armpit area with oil. Massage in a circular motion; moving from the inside to the outside breast/armpit area to stimulate circulation & lymphatic flow. Apply pressure with thumbs at the center of the chest and slide downwards to relive muscle tension. Do the same motion with the thumbs inwards towards the chest from the armpit area. Avoid the nipples if breastfeeding and wash off before feeding.
Apply at room temperature or warmed.
For added benefits, apply a warm compress on the chest before and/or after massage or warm the oil.
